What a day! Part 3

Ok, so there were a lot of good pictures taken today so there will be one more post after this. It's so nice to be able to be outside and it was really good to see all my cousins today. Well, I didn't see ALL of them, because I have a lot. To those I didn't see today, we'll see you next time I'm in town! We had a great time at Jeff's rugby game and Kelly and I have decided to learn about it so we'll actually know what the heck they were doing out there!

Here's a great picture of Jerry, Mary Ann & Grace.
See the blue jersey in the mix of all the red ones? That's Jeff. We think they won 81-0.
Here's a good picture of Jeff. I saw a picture on their fridge where he and his brother Billy were covered in Desitin when they were babies. That picture will probably haunt them someday. They were such cute babies and as you can see, now they are quite good looking guys!
Back at Aunt Kelly's we hung out outside some more. It was a wonderful day.

What a day! Part 2

Today we took Abbott on his first outing. We went to see our cousin Jeff play rugby. We had never seen a rugby game before and we were pretty amazed at the intensity of the game. We heard that the players really get excited if the either get bloody or draw blood on someone else. Sounds like a great time, huh?
Here we are getting ready to go.
Abbott in his baby bjorn. He's really into the rugby game.
Mine & Kelly's cousins.
Jack got really thirsty at the game. Thanks to Aunt Kelly for giving up her water to Jack.

More on the way later.

What a day! Part 1

Today, Abbott was awake most of the morning so we got in some good aunt/nephew bonding. We also prepared for Abbott's first adventure away from home (other than to the pediatrician).
He's my favorite nephew.
Aren't we cute?

It was finally warm outside so that's where we spent most of the day.

More Abbott (& one Jack) pics

I really expected a lot of jealousy from Jack when I was holding Abbott since he's such a mama's boy, but he really didn't seem to mind. Kelly even said she was surprised that he wasn't jealous. Then, when Ryan got home from work yesterday, he took Abbott into the bedroom for a little "father/son time" (which I think was actually father/son NAP time) and Jack kept wanting to go in the room with him. He kept wanting Ryan to play. He also wanted Aunt Kelly to play and couldn't quite understand why she couldn't and just kept sitting on the couch. Jack also got Tim and Janet (Grammie & Pops) involved in the playing once we got back to their house. Somehow, he never asked me to play. :( I guess I'm just old news. Janet kept a lot of Ryan and his brother's old toys and has gotten them out for Abbott (you should see Abbott slam dunk the basketball) and Jack has had a fun time playing with those. In the last post, Jack has on Ryan's New Kids on the Block hat that he used in a talent show. I'll have to find that video (I think my dad still has it) and post it for you. I think Jack probably has some of the moves down already. Ryan did it 20 years ago when they were popular and now that they're reuniting (Oh yes, it's true) Jack can learn the dance, too.
Here's Abbott sleeping in his swing.
Here's Abbott sleeping some more.
Here's Jack NOT sleeping.

Fun with Baby Abbott

Jack and I finally made it back to Nashville after not seeing Abbott for 4 whole days. I don't really know how we've made it this long. We got here Friday afternoon and we'll be here til Thursday and we're anxiously awaiting the arrival of Wannie & Poppa. Many people have begun to ask me if holding Abbott makes me ready to have another baby, so I thought I'd go ahead and answer those that were wondering. NO, it does NOT. I LOVE holding Abbott and I do miss Jack being a small, STILL, SLEEPING baby, but I am not ready to tackle super extremely wiggly, active Jack and a tiny new baby that cries and has to eat every few hours. Those of you out there that have or are currently doing it, BRAVO, but it's not for me. I have to say that yesterday was almost miserable at Kelly's house once we'd been there for awhile. Jack hadn't had much of a nap and was whiny and crying and Abbott was crying and getting a little TOO much attention and it just got to be too much. Fortunately, I was able to leave the situation and head out to Ryan's parents house (who are so graciously letting me stay with them). Today was MUCH better. Jack got a good nap and was in a very good mood this evening and Abbott was calm and snoozing. Had this been my new baby, I probably would have lost my temper with Jack and only made things worse. Give it time, let's enjoy Abbott and in a couple of years, we'll see! :) Here are a few pictures from today and yesterday. I will post more in just a minute. Enjoy!

The not so good pictures.

Everyone always posts such cute pictures of their kids. I have to say, I'm thankful for my digital camera so that I can take lots and lots of pictures and not have to develop thousands of dollars worth of film. I thought it would be funny to go back a couple of months and pick some of the ones that I didn't send out, either because Jack just didn't cooperate or he looks drunk (even though he's not, I promise!)

Random Pictures

My parents found an old 35mm camera while cleaning out their closets and while I have a 35mm camera, I wanted to play with theirs. Then, I found some cheap black and white film in my old camera bag and took some pictures one day in Jack's room. Some turned out pretty artsy, I thought. Enjoy.

I wonder what he's thinking about...
