Port Lavaca

We got into Port Lavaca Monday evening and met Mamaw at Whataburger. We picked up dinner and headed to Grandma's house and just relaxed for the evening. Tuesday we spent time outside looking at a big tractor across the road, picking flowers and Jack rode his trike. The wind is usally worse than Amarillo wind but this day was very pleasant. That night, Jarred's cousin Clint and his wife, Gina came over for dinner and a very nice visit. Jack made best friends with Gina and wanted her to help him do all sorts of things like eat and do his puzzle. She obliged and they had a great time. It was nice to see them, since we don't usually get to see many other family members. Here are some pics from our Tuesday in Port Lavaca.

Last days in Tomball

The weather on Sunday and Monday in Tomball was beautiful. We were able to spend most of Easter afternoon outside. Jack helped Emily wash her car, drove his tricycle around and played with a new puppy that may be adopted by Jason & Kelly. Jack hasn't been to fond of dogs but he sure took to this one. He kept wanting to play with it and pet it and give it water. It was very cute. Too bad they have to grow up to be dogs or I would have brought one home for him!

HAPPY EASTER!

Well I've finally gotten my camera out to load my pictures. Here are some from the start of our trip until today. The Easter bunny was quite generous to Jack. He got a new tricycle to ride at Uncle JJ's and Grandma's house, Hi-Ho Cherry-O, a puzzle, a baseball bat and ball, candy and new cars. Laura and Jack searched for eggs that the Easter bunny had to hide in the house since it's raining today. We've had a lot of fun so far and it's just starting!

Then they blew some bubbles at the puppy to see if she would chase them. She kinda just sat and watched them.

We went to the park yesterday afternoon and managed to get Jack in the swing. He realized it wasn't too bad after all but still didn't want to stay in it for very long.

We raced Uncle JJ down the slide. We would have won but Jack put his feet on the sides.

So, I raced him by myself. We tied.

Jack hasn't had much of an appetite, maybe because he's been eating chocolate. He does love that.

One of the Christopher's(Barbara's family) Easter traditions is to make an Easter nest. You take the Easter grass and decorate it with flowers. The Easter bunny then leaves gifts in the nest. Jack got to make his first Easter nest and the girls helped him.

Here's one! He didn't love searching for the eggs. He was more interested in eating the candy in the stuffed plastic eggs. We're probably stuck inside most of the day because the weather here is pretty gloomy. Anyone up for a game of Hi-Ho Cherry-O?

Back in the Lone Star State

Jack and I got into Texas about 3:30 yesterday afternoon and Jack was so excited to see Grandma and then Jason's clan. We went to a cafe in town that claims to have the best chicken fried steak in Texas. It was good, but not as good as one I had in Amarillo, so maybe it's 2nd best. Kelly took a few pictures with her phone at the restaurant so I thought I'd share them.

Here's a funny Jack story. On the way over in the car, he was picking his nose. Fun, I know. He brought his finger out, empty handed this time and said, "Mommy, there are no boogers." I said, "Well, that's good, Jack." He said, "We will have to go to the booger store." Anyone know where one is??

Finally Spring.. at least til Monday

The weather was perfect today. Mid 70's, sunny with a few clouds, just a perfect day to be outside. Jarred took advantage of this beautiful day and went to the office to study. I know, fun. Jack & I went to Popo and Moma Jo's to enjoy the outdoors. Jack stayed and helped Popo plant new grass while I went to JoAnn's (remember, the crack store) to pick up a few things and then came back and helped Moma Jo supervise the grass planting. Jack was so helpful, he knows exactly how to plant the grass and he would take Popo his water and a cookie when he needed to be re-energized. I didn't take my camera but took control of their's so here's a few from our day. I took a good video of Jack showing me how to plant the grass but Popo will have to put it on his blog. If any of you need grass planted, Popo & Jack are the ones to call.

Moma Jo taught him that when walking down the hill if you feel like you're going to fall, just sit down. Looks like he had to do this a few times.

To plant grass, you take some from the hillside that's hard to mow and re-plant it in the bare spots in the yard. Jack would say, "this looks like a good spot."

This picture just freaked me out a little, he looks so much like a little boy rather than a baby or toddler.

We were getting him to show us his many faces. Here, he is surprised.

After a hard day of planting grass, Jack & Popo share a cookie... or two.

I told him we'd have to get him a hat like Popo's and he didn't forget. Before we left he said, "I will have to get a hat like Popo's." He tried Popo's on to see what size he will need.

I'm sure mom and dad will post pictures of their azaleas too, but aren't they beautiful?

One of my favs of the day. Tomorrow we're off to the zoo. It's supposed to be another beautiful day but Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be in the 40's so we'll most likely be indoors. It's ok, I have to pack and get ready for our next adventure. We're off to Tomball, Port Lavaca and Athens beginning Thursday!
