Jack's Big Birthday Weekend Day 1

On Friday we met Jarred for lunch in Oak Ridge and then went to the Children's Museum there. It really tells a lot of the history of Oak Ridge and when Jack's bigger, I'd like to read it. :) It was a fun way to start the weekend before Jack's big 4th birthday on Monday!

Jack is helping guard the secret city.

I remember a tv similar to this at my grandmother's house. When it broke, we just set a new tv on top of it.

Playing with the boats in the river. You can create locks and dams so the boat will float all the way down.

The toy room. They have toys from the 1910's to the 1990's.

This is a kid size doll house where they can play in a kitchen, living room and upstairs bedrooms. You can't really tell but Jack is taking care of the baby upstairs.

Now he's taking a break in the living room.

I'm thinking about getting Jacey a doll house like this. Scarlett and Rhett were on the front porch.
This was one of Jack's favorite parts of the museum. Lots of trains!

We'll work on getting the track at Popo's like this.

Jacey's really enjoying the museum.

This is a replica classroom from the 40's when Oak Ridge became the secret city. Jack is drawn toward just about anything musical. Does this mean he's really smart or just likes to make noise?? I'll go with both!

Weighing the coal from the coal mine.

The conversation went like this:
Jack: Yeah, we're just at the... uh... Mom where are we?
Me: The museum.
Jack: We're at the Children's museum. Yeah. Ok, bye.
Me: Who was that?
Jack: Aunt Lissa.
Seeing if he can fly to infinity and beyond.

Listening to dad from the other side of the room.

He's not so sure about eating sushi on the floor.

He does love the African xylophone, though.

Planting veggies in rural Appalachia. He asked where the water hose was. When I told him they didn't have a water hose then he said, "I'll just pretend."

Being a beekeeper.

Sweet kiddos.
