Big Steps

So, I let Jack drink out of a "big boy" cup the other day and I was surprised at how well he did. We don't do this very often so I didn't expect too much. I let him do it all by himself and he was very proud of himself until it became fun to play in the water. Soon, the water was everywhere. On the tray, on Jack, dripping on the floor. It was awesome. He was having so much fun!
It's beginning to get difficult to understand what Jack is saying. He talks all the time and repeats everything so there is just no telling what's going on in his head. A few days ago he was riding his tractor and he said, "Bye bye, mommy." I said, "Bye bye, Jack." And he proceeded to drive around the table. Well, on Friday he once again hopped on his tractor and said, "Bye bye, mommy. Au ju." Not paying much attention (because he talks ALL THE TIME), I didn't respond and he said, "au ju. au ju. au ju." Finally, I looked down at him and realized what he was saying and I said, "Aww Jack, I love you too!"

32 years

My mom and dad have been married 32 years today. That's pretty awesome. The only thing that's not awesome about it is that it means that I will be 31 soon. Yuck. But hey, YAY for them!

Why I should not cook...

So I cooked for the first time in a while last night and I'm beginning to rethink my decision. Jarred was home and playing with Jack so I can't even say he was a distraction. I began to cut the chicken on my cutting board and put a pot of beans on the back burner to heat up. All of a sudden I smell something funny and try to figure out what it is. I think, "I bet the cutting board is touching the back burner" so I go to lift it off and it is melted to the stove. I had turned on the FRONT burner. I think I said, "Oh crap" (really, I did). As Jarred walks in and starts to laugh, I say "I meant to turn on THIS burner" and turned on the back burner. HOWEVER, I actually turned on the front burner again and it begins to turn red and continue to melt the plastic on the stove. Jarred laughs harder. I finally do turn on the right burner and begin to smell something else funny. I then realize that a wooden spoon is touching the back burner and beginning to burn. We did end up eating a very nice dinner but we lost a cutting board and almost a wooden spoon in the process. :)

He may have been born in Tennessee...

But only a Texas boy wants to wear his boots WITH his PJs.

Gotta have some of these...

Jack decided it would be fun to climb his baby bed today. Yay for this new step!

Ok, so every baby needs some blackmail pictures taken, right? Hope you're not offended by the hiney pics (ha) but it is pretty cute isn't it? Jack will really appreciate these one day... won't he??

Ok, Ok I'll blog too.

So all the cool people are doing it, why not me? I have a myspace page but most of my family and friends do not. I decided to set this up for y'all. Plus, Kelly said she'd link me to her page. I gotta do it now. :) I'm pretty good about takin' pictures and posting them, so look out.
