More Jack & Abbott pics

Ryan's brother, Justin and his wife, April just moved to Knoxville a few weeks ago. They came over Saturday night to get in a little Abbott time. Unfortunately Abbott was a little tired and Jack was a most ungracious host. He kept saying, "Are dey need go home". Which in Jack language translates to "Are they going to go home?" As much as we tried to convince him, he did not believe that Justin was Uncle Ryan's brother and that "Aunt" Janet (as he called her last time) was his mommy. When we told him that, he just said, "NO". Oh well, maybe next time he will be a little friendlier... if they ever want to come back! :)

Abbott just can't hold his eyes open any more.

Jack's showing off his new Beatles t-shirt. No fever today, so we were thankful for that!

It's hard to get a good picture of a 5 month old and a 2 year old. This was about as best as I could get of the 2 of them in their Beatles t-shirts.

"Hey Aunt Jami, I've had a really fun time at your house!"

We had a great weekend and we're looking forward to taking Jack to Aunt Kelly's house for a weekend now! :)

Aunt Jami & Abbott time

Jack was taking a long nap trying to get rid of that fever so Abbott and I got in a few quality hours together. He can't stop talking about how much fun he's had at our house!

We took a little snooze,

Posed for the camera,

what is she doing to me?

oh yeah, she takes a lot of pictures (or gets Uncle Jarred to take a lot of pictures)

I'll just hide, then she can't take anymore! He was trying to flip over his boppy.

More later!

A Damper on the Party

Well we were having a great time until Jack decided to come down with a fever. When he woke up from his nap yesterday, he had a 101 fever. He didn't really act like he felt bad but he's been pretty sad today. We've watched CARS 2 times already today and he's mostly just laid on the floor watching it. I hate to see him like this. We're trying to keep him away from Abbott as much as possible and it's really sad when he says he wants to sit by him and play with him. He's eating some noodle soup right now- the cure all, right?- and then he'll hopefully take a good, long nap. Then we can resume our fun.

Abbott played outside in his exersaucer for a long time yesterday. He really likes it!

Waving to Jack. :)

Jack's new "art" table. This table used to be mine and Kelly's when we were little.

Isn't he too cute?

Here's Jack today, watching CARS for the 2nd time. He said he wanted to cover up with his tractor blanket. I think it makes him feel better. :) Hopefully the fever will break and I can get some more pictures of them together. They have so much fun when they both feel good!

Pictures Volume 1

Here are some pictures of the fun we've had so far. Be prepared, there will probably be many many more!

Jack wanted to hold Baby Abbott. He is waving at him.

Abbott was laying on a blanket on the floor, so Jack wanted to do that, too. Of course, he needed a pillow and wanted to be under his tractor blanket.

Two cute cousins!

Abbott loves Jack and just laughs every time he sees him. If you haven't already, check out the video in the previous post.

Jack is reading his choo choo train book to Abbott and showing him the pictures. Abbott wants to eat it.

Jack wasn't too sure about this one. Abbott reached for his face and Jack decided that was enough.

Abbott's pooped. He's been asleep for almost an hour on my bed. That's a long nap for him! I hope I didn't just jinx it! More to come later!

Priceless

Abbott is here for the weekend and in the 4 hours so far that he's been here, we've had a great time. Here is a great video of Jack & Abbott playing. Pictures coming soon!

Too Much Fun!

Read this when you have extra time because there are lots of pictures from this past weekend. But, hey, when you have a great time, you've gotta document it and that's just what I did.

Our fun started out at home on Thursday:

My little monkey jumping on the bed.

And helping me fix some chicken salad. He is a great helper. Especially when he sits really still on this stool...

Next our fun continued Friday afternoon when we went to Nashville to see Baby Abbott (ok, I guess we went to see Kelly, Ryan, Tim and Janet too). Jack and I picked Abbott up from school early and we headed to Tim & Janet's. We had a good time napping and playing until everyone else got into town. Mom and Dad came over, too, to get some ideas to redo the High Hopes video.

"See Abbott, this is how you do it."

"Nah, I'd rather make silly faces at Aunt Jami!"

"Fine, let me just get in there and show you how it's done."

Awww, poor Jack fell asleep right beside baby Abbott.

Abbott says, "Waaasssssssaaaaaaap"

We raided Janet's kitchen and cooked up a yummy spaghetti dinner. (Did I mention they weren't in town at this point. They were in Ohio at their other daughter-in-law's graduation. They came home Saturday afternoon.) Here, Popo and Ryan help clean out the sauce pan with the extra bread.

Saturday was the most eventful day with a morning trip to Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, back to Janet's for an afternoon nap and then out to Arrington Vineyards to watch Ryan (and the rest of the band) play. Cheekwood had a special admission price and any of the families from High Hopes were able to go. They had exhibits called "happily ever after" and they had to do with different fairy tales. They handed out backpacks full of fun things for the kids but Jack's favorite was the magnifying glass. He searched for all kinds of things.

He looked for things in the water.

He looked for bugs on the flowers with Momo Jo.

This leaf is not big enough, so he had to get a closer look.

Checking out the purple flowers.

You can see better through a magnifying glass if you hold it far away, like this.

At the "Sword in the Stone" display, I attempted and failed to remove the sword from the stone.

Kelly also attempted and failed.

Would you believe Jack had no problem removing he sword. I guess he is the next King. Does that pay well enough to take care of your parents?

Here's part of the Japanese Garden.

Flowers along the walking path. There were a lot of butterflies around these.

Look closely, there is a beautiful orange butterfly on the flowers.

Lilies on the lily pads.

This is the Cheekwood Mansion, which we found out, was home to the Maxwell House coffee family.

(break for nap)

Next we headed to grab a burger and to the vineyards.

When my hair gets long enough to cut, I'm going to this place. It was in the same shopping center as our burger stop.

At the vineyards, Jack enjoyed seeing the grapes. Problem was, the grapes were down a rather steep hill so we had to take turns going to see them. Also, we weren't really supposed to be wandering around the grapes, but we didn't see the sign.

They looked good enough to just pull them off the vine and eat them, which I'm surprised Jack didn't try to do.

Here's the store at the vineyards where they sell the t-shirts and let you taste the wines. Kix Brooks (of Brooks & Dunn) and his old roomate own this vineyard, but we didn't see him.

Janet, Kelly & Abbott chillin at the vineyard.

Here's the band. When they play here, they don't sing, they just provide background music and they call themselves Art 4 Sale. It was very relaxing.

Jack is giving his request (Freebird) to Dougie.

Hangin' out with the guys, drinkin' and listening to music. What a great night.

On another trip to see the grapes, Kelly and Jack had to take a spin. Too much wine for Aunt Kelly? I hope not, it might not have sat well with all the spinning!

A perfect ending to a great day!

Sunday we enjoyed spending time together and visited in Tim & Janet's backyard before heading home.

Jack is making you think he pushes the pedals, but he prefers to use his feet Fred Flintstone style.

Getting in some Abbott time before we have to leave.

Look at these 2 cute boys. Abbott is coming to stay in Knoxville for the weekend. Kelly is in a wedding in North Carolina and Abbott is going to stay with us. I'm predicting another really fun weekend!
