It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas!

We've got the tree up and a few decorations on the mantle. We're not putting lights on the house this year for 2 reasons- 1) we will be gone a week before Christmas until after Christmas so we didn't really want to go through the trouble (bah humbug, I know) and 2) to save energy. KUB raised our electric rates 20% in October so we sit in the dark most of the day. :)

Still, we are in the Christmas spirit. Jack is learning Christmas carols and loves the trees. We went to see Santa at a local nursery this past weekend. It was perfect- cold, snow, hot cocoa, fire in the fire pit. Santa even brought some of his reindeer. Here's a few pictures from our Christmas activities.

Except this one- Wannie sent Jack some stickers and here's what he decided to do with them.

Jack took great care in where he placed the ornaments on the tree.

Jack, Popo and Moma Jo getting ready to go see Santa and his reindeer.

These are the only "flying" reindeer as they are flown to NYC for the Macy's parade (or so we were told). The one with the big huge antlers is Blitzen, the one with the smaller antlers is Dasher and the baby's name is Cornelius. He was born this year.

Did you know they shed their antlers every year? I didn't know that.

Jack was unsure about sitting in Santa's lap despite talking about him for weeks.

He did tell him he wanted a blue tractor for Christmas. He already has one, would it be bad for Santa to find it and place it under the tree??
We are fairly convinced that this is, in fact, the real Santa since he remembered Jarred. He volunteered a lady in line behind us to take a picture of all 3 of us with Santa and Jarred politely declined. Santa's reply, "He never wanted to sit on my lap as a kid, either." I'm convinced! Hope you're all getting in the holiday spirit. We'll be seeing lots of family members so we're very excited!

Wow! Do yo think that Santa named the new little reindeer after us? I'm impressed that Jack sat that close to santa, DAcie just looked from a distance and shook her head NO! most of the time. And I say if he doesn't know the difference, recycle the blue tractor again!
You need to get him the book, "the elf on the shelf" he would love it!

It is very nice story :). And maybe we will feel more as chrstmas now... . We have the special time of expectation for Baby Jesus in Church so we need to wait till Dec.24th with X-mas Tree etc... . But we already got the package from TN today... and I still hesitate whether I should open it or wait till Christmas Eve... ? Thank You a lot for the package - even if I do not know what's inside.

It is so fun to see your holiday activities. Jack is becoming of the age to really get into it all. Wish we could share of the time with you. We will be there in spirit
